How to be a Successful Client

Whether you are a new client or interested in working with Hueman Studio, here are some tips we have found resulted in synergy and a positive outcome.

Do not underestimate the onboarding

Although we may have had some preliminary calls or have worked with clients in a similar niche to you, no one knows your brand and needs as best as you do. By prioritizing the onboarding, we can fully understand

  1. The overarching goals of your business (values)

  2. How the project scope will result in achieving these goals (conversions/KPIs)

  3. How to account for scalability and future business plans (logistics)

We want to make sure we cross every T and dot every I, and that may require some “brand soul-searching” on your part too!

Success happens when everyone shows up

At Hueman Studio, we don’t view projects as transactions; we view them as partnerships. While we are working on executing creative work for your brand, that might involve some thinking, asset collection, reference sourcing, etc. from you. We want to help guide you and support you in any way possible, but at the end of the day, we want you to be happy with the outcome of your project and we have found that clients who take some time to figure out what they want have the best results.

Provide actionable feedback

For those unfamiliar with creative projects, working on a project with Hueman Studio may be exciting, engaging, overwhelming, confusing or all of the above. Knowing what you want out of an end product or even providing feedback that will help us get there might not be second nature to you. When soliciting feedback, we have found that the best feedback is actionable.

❌ I’m not liking this Concept. Can I see something else?

✅ I’m not liking Concept 2’s layout. The text doesn’t seem to fit with the icon well. Can I see something more similar to Concept 1’s layout? I’m also open to your professional recommendation.

The actionable feedback examples tells us exactly what you DON’T like about the deliverable (so we know not to show you something just like it) and tells us what you might prefer to see. It also lets us know that you are open to our professional recommendation if we may have one that doesn’t necessarily match your feedback.

Utilize your preferred method of communication

Different clients prefer different methods of communication! All we ask is that the communication channels stay open, clear, and respectful. If you prefer written communication, we have no problem being more active in communicating via email. If you prefer discussing things over video call, all of our packages feature hours that can be used to discuss project updates just to clarify and get on the same page. Please let us know how we can best keep the communication flowing and active in order to achieve the goals of the project.
